A Lovely Giveaway

I can't remember the last time I had a giveaway so one is well overdue.I thought this pretty 'Book Maiden' would be a suitable prize and hope you like her enough to have a go at entering.

Here are her vitals:
Hand-drawn and painted illustration of a lovely ‘book loving' lady on tea dyed vintage cotton.Pigment ink and fabric paints have been used and fixed so no fading will occur. The illustration has been embellished with embroidery, vintage fabric, lace and glass pearls.
Mounted in a wooden embroidery hoop which has been lime waxed to give it a pinky white finish. Backed with beige wool mix felt and ready to 'pretty' any wall or cosy shelf.

The winning name will be picked at random on Saturday 16th April so you have over a week to enter. and all importantly to have a chance of winning just become a follower of this here blog or a 'liker' on my Facebook page and leave a comment recommending your favourite book. Also,if you tell others about this giveaway let me know and you will be entered twice.
So good luck,

Oh I do want to win this giveaway!! It's so pretty. A favourite book is a difficult thing so it has to be between the moomins and (the more grown up) William Maxwell the chateau... but next week it could well be something else!

Who would not want to win? She's beautiful :]

My favourite book is Holy Fools by Joanne Harris and I strongly recommend it to anyone! It's one of the few books I've read more than once and I think the only book I keep re-reading.

It's enchanting, captivating and terribly moving :] x

What a beautiful Book Maiden!!

I love Jonathan Livingstone Seagull, a book I first read at the age of 11 and still love the emotions it stirs in me :)

Oh I would love to win the pretty maiden! I've liked your Facebook page...

One of my favourite books is Z for Zachariah
... a novel by Robert C. O'Brien. It is written from the perspective of a sixteen-year-old girl, who survives a nuclear war. I read it when I was 13 and it gave me the heeby-jeeby's!...At the same time I thought it was magnificent.

Gorgeous giveaway, she is beautiful!

My favourite book is Wonderland (for looking at the pictures, its just so beautiful) "a visual essay on dreams, imagination, the surreal and the divine".

Its hard to choose for reading, I'll go with 44 Scotland Street which I'm just about to finish and haven't been able to put down :0)

As always a beautiful illustration, I love your makes!

My favourite book is 'Our Spoons Came from Woolworths' by Barbara Comyns. I reread it (again) last year - I'd forgotten how sad it is (but a happy ending). It's about an artist who keeps a newt in her pocket!

It also takes me back to being 18 - which is a long time ago now.

I found your blog through seeing your pieces on Folksy then having a nosy google and I'm so pleased I did, looking forward to reading more about your creations!

Not very original I'm afraid but I'm an Austen lover, Pride and Prejudice just wins favourite over Persuasion but not by much. There is such a sense of playfulness in her prose that keeps me hooked. Have to recommend One Hundred Years of Solitude by Marquez too - it's like embroidery with words so it could be right up your street Gracie :-)
